The Most Bonkers Inauguration Packages From Area Hotels

View as Map

Once the winner of the presidential election was decided last November, local hotels leapt into action to come up with the most over-the-top Inauguration packages for the January 21st event. Because what better way to celebrate democracy than a weekend of stratospheric level perks? There are shopping sprees in the tens of thousands of dollars, jewelry fit for a queen, and—natch—chauffers, champagne, and dinner at the best restaurants. The most bonkers of them all has got to be the JW Marriot that is offering 300 of their rooms plus $800,000 in food and drinks for the total price of $2.7M, but the most innovative of them all is the Madison hotel with a package that includes a social media butler in the $47,000 package. She will be on hand to manage the guests' personal Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr feeds so that they can enjoy the weekend instead of spending time taking pictures and uploading them. Four days of blue-blooded catering does not come cheap. How not cheap? $47,000 or nearly $12,000 per day! But hold on: For $500 an hour, you will certainly live like a king because it includes a $5,000 shopping experience with Brooks Brothers so the perfect ensemble is ready to go. No worries about posting jealousy-enducing pics on Instagram because (of course) you'll have a Social Media Butler to handle all the tweeting, texting, and uploading. And to avoid the chaos of the city, there's also a night at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg. Plus, 22 of your friends can roll as a baller with a private VIP tour.

Four days of extravagance is on the table at the Ritz, and all for the paltry price of $100,000. For 100 G's, you can really "Access Washington" with perks galore, including viewing the Inaugural Parade at the Newseum, outfits selected by Saks Fifth Avenue in Chevy Chase to make sure you look like you spent a fortune for the weekend, and a diamond and ruby pin because why not? You'll get to experience life at POTUS with a tour through the back doors to learn how VVIPs arrive securely and stealthily.

For the Presidential Package, no detail is left to chance. For $100,000, the package includes a shopping spree at Saks, use of fake agents to make you feel secure, chauffeur service in a BMW 7-Series, and matching Rolexes for you and your boo. And MObama's favorite flowers will be delivered to your Presidential Suite, so you'll feel just like FLOTUS, at least for the weekend.

Dropping the same amount of dough in a weekend as the price on a high-end luxe car needs to feel like it's worth it. At $57,000, the perks are practically priceless. (Not really because they do require green.) Not only do you get VIP treatment in the Presidential Suites, but a VIP tour of the Kennedy Center, a personalized Windsor-style rocking chair, and cured meats. It may be strange, but everyone has their particular tastes.

Hotel Madera

Kimpton properties are known for being unique, and at Dupont's Hotel Madera, it's no exception. Rolling in at $320,000, the hotel's Inauguration Buyout Package includes not one or two suites, but the entire 82-room hotel. And to keep it edgy and a bit sexy depending on who's wearing it, you'll get an animal-print robe to wear to your private post-Inauguration social at Firefly.

The Morrison House Hotel in Old Town Alexandria will give you access to all 45 rooms, a butler at your beck-and-call, silk PJs, and more alcohol than you and your buddies can handle. Seriously, drinking $200,000 worth of booze takes a lot of practice.
