For first-time homebuyers, it can be a bit scary to dive into the world of real estate and find the best home for one's budget. To help with the process, Curbed has mapped 10 starter homes that offer at least two bedrooms and are priced under $425,000. It's worth knowing that the median listing price for a home in Washington, D.C. is currently $580,000, according to Redfin, with the most expensive homes found in the Northwest quadrant.

With that in mind, expect a majority of the following condos, townhomes, and single-family homes to be located in the Northeast and Southeast quadrants. The map points are ordered from least to most expensive.
