[The default view of this map is focused on London. To see Washington, D.C., use the tools in the map to zoom out and then meander to the District.]
Eric Fischer, a former programmer at Google, has been working on a project, called The Geotaggers' World Atlas, for five years now. In the pursuit of finding the most scenic locations around the world, Fischer took a look through Flickr's geotagged photos to see what parts of each city are most photographed. The thought process is: if a location is more photographed than others, then it must be more significant. Above, you can see which parts of Washington, D.C. are most photographed. Tell us in the comments if there are any sections that you're surprised have gotten a lot of attention.
