Mapping The 10 Least Expensive Homes In/Near Dupont Circle

View as Map

Springtime in "the circle". Dupont ain't Paris, but it's probably as close to Parisian as this city will get. The youngsters, the oldies, the hip, and the touristy all flock to this outdoor space to eat gelato/drink a latte/throw hamburgers at each other. Love it or hate it, but most people love it. And blocks off of this city destination are condos that are looking for a buyer who wants to live a quasi-European lifestyle. And yes, because many people want to live in Dupont and inventory is super tight, money does not go that far. Don't expect anything more than a one bedroom on this map. But it isn't the unit that's important, it's the location.

1727 Massachusetts Avenue Northwest
Washington, DC 20036

If basic is your idea of living, it don't get more basic than this. This studio (or junior one bedroom) condo is "affordable and convenient". But there doesn't seem to be a lot (or any) natural light. Condo fees are $396/monthly but include the utilities.

3. $219,000

1514 17th Street Northwest
Washington, DC 20036

This Copley Plaza studio coop has been hanging on the market for under a week. Billed as a P St "pied-a-terre", at 484 sq.ft. there isn't too much space to spread. But at this location, the buyer should be out enjoying the nabe's offerings.

4. $239,000

1816 New Hampshire Avenue Northwest
Washington, DC 20009

A buyer may have gotten cold feet, but that could mean an opportunity for someone else. The studio is a bit less than 350 sq.ft. But there is a balcony so the extra outdoor space will make the place feel a bit bigger.

5. $240,000

1316 New Hampshire Avenue Northwest
Washington, DC 20036

This studio dropped onto the market just a few days ago. The condo fees run at only $168 monthly, and that even includes the water. It may only be 400 sq.ft. but there is a washer/dryer in the unit as well.

6. $299,000

1026 16th Street Northwest
Washington, DC 20036

This is a Presidential coop. The interior is elegant. The staging is done just right. And it hasn't been languishing on the market. The fees are $510/monthly.

7. $329,000

1736 18th Street Northwest
Washington, DC 20009

It's a "walker's paradise" so jump on it. The one bedroom condo in The Waterford has tasteful built-ins and closet space that's "unbelievable". Plus, condo fees are pretty low.

8. $339,900

1737 Willard Street Northwest
Washington, DC 20009

The exposed brick is totally awesome. The one bedroom condo is located in a boutique building and has a bonus patio for "grillin' and chillin'".

9. $349,500

1731 Willard Street Northwest
Washington, DC 20009

This one bedroom condo is pretty much next door to the previous listing. This has "tons of light" and "plenty of closets". And a "potential roof deck", which means there may be a roof deck or it may just be more of an ad hoc roof deck. Not too sure.

10. $379,000

2141 P Street Northwest
Washington, DC 20037

Well, the glass along the wall may evoke the 80s, but the one bedroom Dupont West condo can be updated to make it feel 2013. Not only does the unit has a washer and dryer, but there's also a balcony for entertaining a special guest.
