As we wind down Renters Week we thought we'd take a macro-level look at some of the apartment buildings coming soon from mega-developer JBG. All of these are in some stage of construction and should deliver by the end of 2013 or beginning of 2014. Be warned, there are one or two we had to leave off the list because we couldn't verify some final information so rather than spread false facts we're only mapping the ones we could get updated intel on. Still, nine big apartment buildings equals more than 2,500 units coming from JBG alone. Behold the development wave.Read More
Here's A Map of The 2,500 JBG Apartments Delivering In The Next Year(ish)
This residential-only building has 141 units just 1.5 blocks from the Stadium-Armory Metro station and a short distance to Eastern Market, Barracks Row and the H Street Corridor. It is delivering in the very early part of 2013.
Sedona | Slate
Above is a rendering of Sedona, one half of this project. It will have 271 apartments while its cousin, Slate, will have 203 apartments. Delivery is expected in early 2013.
Two old commercial buildings are being adapted into luxury apartments that will be the tallest buildings in Southwest. Combined they will have 530 units and should be finished by the middle of 2013.
Part of the massive Twinbrook Station development this building will deliver by the end of 2013 and will have 206 units plus retail. [As of now there isn't an update website to share.]
This is where one of DC's Walmarts is going to take root, right below 303 apartments.
Right near Woodley Park Metro, these 212 high-luxury apartments won't deliver until early 2014, but when they do they'll have hardwood flooring throughout and state-of-the-art kitchen appliances.
This huge building will bring 269 units by the beginning of 2014 to 14th Street. Besides the units a huge ground floor of retail/commercial space (42,000 sq. feet) is part of the plan.
Fort Totten Square
Maybe by the middle of 2014 the big arts complex will be completed and there will be more reasons to go to Fort Totten. This building will have 350 units, including studios, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms, and one of the "urban format" Walmarts as a ground floor retailer.
Across From the 9:30 Club
This building is still a maybe for apartments since it could become condos. Either way it will have about 60 units and will likely start leasing in the beginning of 2014.
