Cranes continually dot the city skyline working on every imaginable configuration of buildings for work, living, and leisure. Many of those projects will bring new housing to a city with tight inventory, but few of them will drastically alter the neighborhoods where they are being built. Except for the following eight. These are the ones that will make the surrounding neighborhoods sit up and take notice. Neglected street corners will become prime real estate for the roving developers with their eye on the next place to turn into profitable square footage. Residents who had to drive for a decent selection of vegetables will soon be able to walk down the block for lettuce with life left in it. These mega-growths aren't done yet. But when they are the ripple effect will reach tsunami-sized proportions.
