Check Out The D.C. Area's Hotels That Are Under A Year Old

Capella Washington D.C., Georgetown
This resort hotel on the C&O Canal was perhaps this year's most highly anticipated hotel opening. Peep the living room which is reminiscent of the interior of a cozy ski lodge. The Capella opened in March 2013.
The Graham Hotel, Georgetown
One of the great selling points of the Graham is its rooftop bar, The Observatory. In addition to luxe accommodations, there are cushioned chairs on the Observatory which allow for a comfortable yet impressive view of the city. The Graham opened in April 2013.
Homewood Suites by Hilton, Springfield VA
Candlewood Suites Alexandria-Fort Belvoir
Alexandria residents may not be amenable to a new hostel in their midst, but this short and extended-stay hotel has worked out for them just fine. Candlewood Suites opened in July 2012.
Residence Inn By Marriott
The Ballston neighborhood's first extended stay hotel (which includes ground floor retail) is also environmentally friendly. It's been certified LEED Gold. The Residence Inn by Marriott opened in May 2013.
Hampton Inn & Suites Columbia/South
Okay, so this one is stretching it a bit, but it's an inexpensive stay if the primary reason for visiting the area is to catch a show at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Hampton Inn Columbia/South opened in December 2012.
