On a leafy block in the middle of Dupont Circle, this four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home built in 1913 was recently updated with a slew of contemporary features and appliances.

Thespians will appreciate that it is located just a few steps from near the Keegan Theatre, and outdoor-loungers will admire its “prodigious, south-facing rear deck,” as listing agent Michael Moore puts it. The deck sits above a two-car garage on an alley and faces south.

The home, at 1748 Church St. NW, has a primary residence with two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms and a separate unit with two-bedrooms and one-bathroom on the lower level. The list price is $1,695,000.

The first and second floors boast new hardwood flooring, a renovated kitchen, and a spacious master bedroom with a sleek en-suite bathroom. Encompassing about 1,650 square feet, they come with an audio distribution system and remote-controlled blinds.

The downstairs unit, which has its own front and rear entrances, could be rented out. At nearly 825 square feet, it also has its own laundry room and HVAC system as well as new kitchen appliances and carpeting.

The building is painted blue on the outside and has a new roof, boiler, water heater, gutter system, and A/C system for the upstairs residence. It’s a block and a half east of the circle after which the neighborhood is named and within walking distance of a Metro station and downtown.

Moore, the listing agent, is a senior vice president at Compass.
