For two years, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture’s been one of the hottest tickets in town. Unlike other Smithsonian museums, visitors to the hugely popular new museum either need to score a free timed ticket in advance or try to get a walk-up ticket.
Now, the museum is trying out letting visitors walk right in during weekdays in September. The Washington Post reports that officials at the National Museum of African American History and Culture will crunch the numbers on attendance and see if moving away from passes will be feasible. You’ll still need one for the weekend in September, FYI.
