200 exhibitors and an HGTV star will be at this weekend’s DC Housing Expo and Home Show

Here’s everything you’ll see at the convention center this Saturday

District of Columbia Department of Housing and Community Development

If you want to own a home in the District (or if you already do), mark Saturday in your calendar. This weekend is the 10th annual DC Housing Expo and Home Show, and in honor of that big anniversary, this year’s show is going to be bigger than ever. Over 200 exhibitors will be there, and the goal is to draw 10,000 people to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center for the show, which is happening from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For first-home buyers, this will be a one-stop shop with access to services like free credit reports, home purchase assistance program applications, and credit counseling. Seniors can learn about resources to age in place at home, and there will be financial literacy programs for teens.

Visitors will be able to check out DIY demos, healthy cooking demos, walk through a tiny house and a shipping container home, explore smart home technology, check out a mini-design center, and more.

George Derek Musgrove, co-author of Chocolate City: A History of Race and Democracy in the Nation’s Capital will be on hand, as will HGTV’s Egypt Sherrod of Property Virgins and Flipping Virgins. She’ll host a lecture and Q&A, and attendees can meet her too.

Check out the flier below and read up on everything that’s planned for the show here.
