This new green space in D.C. is perfect for the Headspace app: over the weekend, Mayor Muriel Bowser celebrated the opening of the Petworth Meditation Garden at Kansas Avenue and Quincy Street NW in Ward 4. The triangle-shaped parked includes seating for quiet reflection, a drinking fountain for people and pets, bike racks, and ADA-accessible permeable paved paths. This is the District government’s first meditation garden, according to the Washington Post.
“We are excited about the new life that has been given to this lawn,” DPR Director Keith A. Anderson said in a press release. “This will be something residents will gravitate to and we are excited about turning some of our other small parks into mediation gardens.”
