The luxurious residential tower going up at 1331 Maryland Avenue, SW has a new name. Republic Properties Corporation just announced that its luxury residential building going up near the Jefferson Memorial and the Tidal Basin will simply be known as 1331.

The 14-story residential tower is designed by New York-based Robert A.M. Stern Architects, and promises spectacular views of D.C.’s landmarks and the waterfront. The 373-unit building will be located within walking distance of The Wharf neighborhood, and its rooftop will be a destination too, with an infinity pool, two private club rooms, a walking “Sky Track” path, fire pits, grilling stations, and a lounge. The project is leasing in the spring of 2019.

“1331 looks to Washington’s great tradition of Classicism to honor a key site overlooking the monument-studded landscape of the Tidal Basin and the Potomac,” architect Robert A.M. Stern said in a press release. “As well, it seeks to join the local tradition of distinguished apartment houses like the Kennedy-Warren, with a syncopated pattern of windows that conveys a sense of individuality to the apartments.”
