A 1960s-era apartment complex on S. Glebe Road in south Arlington will soon be torn down and rebuilt as a larger mixed-income rental property. Washington Business Journal reports that nonprofit developer AHC Inc. will begin construction next week on The Berkeley apartments at 2900 S. Glebe Road.
When the project is finished in 2020, it will include 256 units spread across two buildings. Of those units, 25% are market rate. The plan is for The Berkeley to offer 155 affordable units — or 60% of the units — to households earning less than 60% of the area median income.
