We know the DMV area is a great place to get outdoors. But now one nonprofit just ranked the parks in D.C. and Arlington among the top five park systems in America. The Trust for Public Land collected data on 100 of the largest U.S. cities using mapping technology and demographic data, then analyzed each city’s parks based on acreage, investment, amenities, and access to figure out its 2018 ParkScore rankings.

Of the 100 cities, Washington and Arlington landed in the third and fourth slots, after Minneapolis and St. Paul. You can read the entries for Washington and Arlington to find out factoids about our parks, like Lincoln Memorial is the most visited park in D.C. and Arlington has 3.5 dog parks per 100,000 residents.
