Gambling site bets that D.C. region is the Amazon HQ2 frontrunner

The oddsmakers think Amazon opening its second headquarters in the Washington area is a good bet. Bisnow reports that online gambling site Bovada is taking bets on Amazon’s nationwide HQ2 search, and Northern Virginia came in as the front-runner and Washington, D.C. as the second most likely pick. Montgomery County is up there too, landing firmly in the top 10 cities at seventh place.

So if you were to put $100 on Northern Virginia, you’d win $240 if that turns out to be Amazon’s ultimate HQ2 pick. Who knows if this is a sure thing, but it’s definitely proof that people will bet on just about anything.
