In February 2018, news broke that there are plans for a brand new Target in Washington, D.C.’s Northeast neighborhood, Ivy City. The developer behind the site has released a new rendering and plans to demolish a warehouse storage facility into a 50-foot-high, 92,828-square-foot building with up to five retail tenants. One of those tenants will be the more than 67,000-square-foot Target.

Located at 1515 New York Avenue NE, the project plans for 148 vehicular parking spaces and 36 bicycle spaces. The filed plans don’t make clear what the timeline of the project is, but the Target is expected to open by the fall of 2020.

Other future Target stores set to open in the D.C. area are in Ballston and Rosslyn, Virginia, as well as Bethesda and College Park, Maryland.
