D.C.’s Rock ‘n Roll Marathon 2018: Road closures to expect

This Saturday, March 10, be sure to plan ahead if you’re thinking of driving in Washington, D.C., as there will be a myriad of road closures starting around 6 a.m. These road closures are due to the annual Rock ‘n Roll Marathon, which will feature the Lincoln Memorial, White House, Rock Creek Park, and more. According to the Hill is Home local blog, the race will begin at 14th Street NW and Constitution Avenue NW.

On Twitter, the D.C. Police Department posted a list of which road closures to expect. For a handy guide, Curbed DC has posted the information below in a more easy-to-read table.

Foggy Bottom, Constitution Avenue NW 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Pedestrian traffic only on Constitution Avenue NW; to enter or exit the area north of Constitution Avenue NW, use K Street NW or 3rd Street NW/395 Tunnel.
Rock Creek Parkway 6 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Rock Creek Parkway is closed from Lincoln Memorial Circle to Shoreham Drive NW; to enter or exit the areas around the course, the following streets will be open: K Street NW, Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Massachusetts Avenue NW, P Street NW, and Q Street NW.
Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, Howard University 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pedestrian traffic only on Calvert, Columbia Road, Harvard Street, 5th Street NW, and Bryant Street NW; to enter or exit the area inside the course, use Massachusetts Avenue NW or Rhode Island Avenue NW.
North Capitol Street NW (Bloomingdale, Eckington) 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Southbound lanes closed from Bryant Street NW to K Street NE; to enter or exit the area inside the course use Rhode Island Avenue NW or New York Avenue NW.
K Street NE, H Street NE, Union Station 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pedestrian traffic only on K Street NE and H Street NE; to enter or exit the area inside the course, use New York Avenue NW or the 3rd Street/395 Tunnel; officers will meter vehicles across 13th Street NE at Maryland Avenue NE.
Capitol Hill 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. East Capitol Street NE closed from 22nd Street NE to 19th Street NE and from 11th Street SE to 3rd Street SE; to exit areas north of E. Capitol Street, use the 3rd Street/395 Tunnel; to exit areas south of E. Capitol Street, go south on 17th Street NE to 295 East or go south on 8th and 4th streets SE to 695; officers will meter vehicles across E. Capitol Street NE at 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th streets.
S. Capitol Street SW/Douglas Bridge, Anacostia Park 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Southbound lanes of S. Capitol Street SW closed from E Street SE to Suitland Parkway; northbound lanes open.
Minnesota Avenue SE (Fairlawn, Dupont Park, and Ft. Dupont), Pennsylvania Avenue SE 7 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Access lane on Pennsylvania Avenue SE to exit to northbound 295; vehicles will be metered across Minnesota Avenue SE at B Street SE; to enter or exit the area inside the course, use 35th Street SE.
E. Capitol Street SE & RFK 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Westbound E. Capitol Street SE closed from Minnesota Avenue/E. Capitol exit ramp to C street NE; to exit areas west of RFK, use Independence Avenue to E. Capitol Street SE.
