There are big plans for a parcel of land in Crystal City, Virginia, known as block G. According to county documents, there are plans for a 43,900-square-foot retail-oriented square with market structures for fairs, carnivals, and farmer’s markets. This square will be known as Metro Market Square and will be bounded by 15th Street S. to the north, Crystal Drive to the east, 18th Street S. to the south, and U.S. Route 1 to the west.

This new project will also offer a future second entrance to the Crystal City Metro station to the east end of the square. According to ARLnow, one inspiration for the design of the site was Boston’s Faneuil Hall.
