Another upscale hotel is on its way near NoMa’s Union Market. This past October, Virgin Hotels announced that they planned on opening their first D.C. property at 411 New York Avenue NE. Now, it’s been revealed that there are plans for Denihan Hospitality’s boutique brand, The James Hotel, to open at 1200 Third Street NE. This will be the brand’s fourth U.S. location and first location in Washington, D.C.
The hotel will be at Trammell Crow’s three-building Armature Works development, which is currently facing appeal. Despite this, the developer plans on breaking ground later this year with a delivery by 2020.
The entire project will feature 465 apartments, 170 condos, 42,000 square feet of retail, and a public plaza. The hotel, itself, will offer 204 rooms, 10,000 square feet of meeting space, and a ground-floor restaurant. There will also be a rooftop bar.
The architect behind the project is Shalom Baranes Associates.
