Construction has begun on The St. James, and everyone in the D.C. area should know about it. The St. James is a 450,000-square-foot, 20-acre facility located at 6805 Industrial Road in Springfield, Virginia, that will soon appeal to all sports players and fans, from hockey to basketball to volleyball to gymnastics to golf. The list goes on an on as there will be facilities for both health and relaxation, all open 24 hours a day.
According to the Washington Business Journal, there will be a 50,000-square-foot fitness center as well as a water park, trampolines, virtual reality gaming. There will also be a restaurant by a celebrity chef who has yet to be revealed.
Expect the pool to span 50 meters, making it Olympic regulation-length. There will also be six batting cages with pitching machines, eight squash singles courts, seven golf simulators, and a FIFA regulation-sized turf field with 65-foot-tall roof clearance.

For hockey lovers, expect two National Hockey League regulation-sized ice rinks. For those who enjoy more rest and relaxation, there will be a 50,000-square-foot health club, a yoga room, and a spa with nine treatment rooms and a cryotherapy chamber.
The indoor water park will feature 6,000 square feet of slides, dumping buckets and sprayers, while the obstacle courses, zip lines, and trampoline zones will span 20,000 square feet with a “gaming theatre” and party rooms included. A total of 900 parking spaces will be constructed.
Once construction completes by September 2018, Washington Business Journal reported that The St. James will be able to host as many as 2,141 people during special events, or roughly 1,200 during regular hours.
