The Empire & D.C. Flyer Cab building, located at 37 L Street SE, is going to be demolished to make way for another new development in Washington, D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood. The plan is to construct an 11-story, 74-unit condo building.

According to local blog JDLand, developer DBT Development with Red Ace LLC purchased the site last year for $6.7 million. A press release reports that the developers expect the project to open by early 2019.

In a statement, DBT Development CEO David Tolson said, “We are excited to break ground in the coming months and develop one of the first luxury condominiums in the neighborhood.”
