Out of the top 20 U.S. cities expected to build the most office space by the end of 2017, Washington, D.C., ranked in eleventh place, beating Austin, Los Angeles, and Houston.
For the District, 1,185,000 square feet of office space is expected, dispersed across three buildings.
The largest amount of office space will be added in Rockrose & Spitzer’s 815,000-square-foot Alexander Court on 2001 K Street NW. The other two buildings include Eastbanc’s 700 Penn in Capitol Hill and The Hoffman Company’s 800 Maine Avenue at The Wharf.
The largest U.S. office project expected to debut by the end of 2017 is the 2.9-million-square-foot Apple Park campus at 10955 Tantau Avenue in Cupertino, California.
