In a new video (shown above), D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser says exactly why she thinks Amazon should locate their second headquarters in the nation’s capital.
Below, see some of the reasons Bowser gave as to why D.C. is the “obvious” choice:
- D.C. is on the East Coast.
- Jeff Bezos already lives here.
- It’s a walkable city.
- A thriving arts scene.
- One out of 10 people in D.C. are in college.
- D.C. cares about being green.
For those who may be curious as to what the robot was at the beginning of the video, it’s a delivery robot created by European company Starship Technologies. By inserting the robot in a star (also brief) role in the video, Bowser may be implying that D.C. is a tech-driven city.
At the end of the video, Bowser asks an Amazon Alexa device on her desk, “Alexa, where is the most interesting company in the world going to locate?”
The device responds, “Obviously, Washington, D.C.”
For now, it’s still up in the air as to which city Amazon may choose, but here are eight journalists who predict that D.C. could be chosen.
