Those who love anything and everything to do with design, home improvement, and flipping are sure to get excited for this year’s Capital Home Show. From September 22 to 24, the show will feature a variety of local and national celebrities on their Main Stage, including Kevin O'Connor of PBS’ Emmy Award-winning This Old House and Dave and Kortney Wilson of HGTV’s Masters of Flip.
For two years now, the Wilsons have hosted Masters of Flip where they have renovated neglected houses in and near Nashville, Tennessee.
On Saturday, September 23, the Wilsons will speak at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. about renovation projects that can be accomplished in a weekend.
In an interview with Washingtonian, the Wilsons offered a few pieces of flipping advice early before the show, saying to focus on location, starting small, and finding a great team.
O’Connor has hosted shows for the DIY network and The History Channel's H2 and has also written the publication The Best Homes of This Old House. The TV show, This Old House, is the longest-running home improvement show in the nation, airing since 1979.
On Friday, September 22, O’Connor will speak at the Capital Home Show’s Main Stage at 6 p.m. and later speak at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 23. During his talks, he will reveal insight and behind-the-scenes shots of This Old House.
The Capital Home Show will be located at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia. Ticket prices start at $7 for adults above the age of 13 and $3 for those between the ages of six and 12.
Last year, the Capital Home Show featured Laurie March, the host of HGTV’s House Counselor, and Matt Muenster, host of DIY’s Bath Crashers.
