After two days on the market, this five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home in Petworth sold for $1,169,990, making it the most expensive single-family home to sell in the neighborhood in the last three years, according to Redfin‘s database. It originally listed for $1,199,990.

In a PoPville article, Compass realtor Suzanne Des Marais wrote that this is the second time ever that a residential property in Petworth has crossed the seven figure threshold. According to Des Marais, Petworth’s first million-dollar home, located at 605 Quincy Street NW, sold in November 2016 for $1,075,000. (It’s worth noting that Redfin reports that the latter property actually sold for $1.05 million.)

The newly sold listing is rather unique for the neighborhood—not only for its price, but for its spacious 3,610-square-foot lot and for the fact that it’s a fully detached property rather than an attached rowhouse.

Inside the renovated space, there are coffered ceilings, multiple fireplaces, and a fully finished lower level with a kitchenette. The kitchen in the upper level offers a waterfall island with bar seating and a gas range. In the rear of the home, there is a deck as well as an attached garage.

The listing agent was Steve Queen of Exit Bennett Realty.
