Since June 2017, Fort Totten’s art-filled, amenity-laden residential development, known as The Modern at Art Place, has been pre-leasing its units. On September 1, the building will officially open to the public with rents starting at $1,475 per month.

Developed by The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation and operated by Bozzuto Management, this building will offer a wide variety of amenities, including a rooftop pool, three outdoor courtyards, a zen garden, bocce ball courts, yoga studio, indoor fitness center, and a close walk to the Fort Totten Metro station. There will also be original artworks, commissioned pieces, and a designated communal space for local resident artists.

By 2019, the three-building project will offer over 900 units, more than 300,000 square feet of retail, and a 47,000-square-foot Explore! Children’s Museum. There will also be a 41,825-square-foot XSport Fitness center.
