In March 2017, this Hillcrest single-family home landed on the market for $998,500, a price fairly unheard of for the area. UrbanTurf reports that while the listing had to lower its price to nab a buyer—down to $925,000—it ended up being the highest price ever paid for a new house east of the Anacostia River.

Before this, the highest sale east of the Anacostia River was $830,000. According to Redfin, the median listing price for the area totals $302,000.

The newly constructed residence offers an “entertaining deck,” “private sky deck,” and a totally modern kitchen. The kitchen boasts floating shelves, a subway tile backsplash, and a waterfall island with bar seating. With 4,100 square feet of space, there are five bedrooms and four bathrooms inside.
