For six weeks, the skate park at Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Stadium-Armory Campus will remain closed for a beautification project.

Behind the renovations of the 15,000-square-foot venue is Lawrence "Naturel" Atoigue, a Maryland native, graphic designer, and fashion designer with a fairly massive following on Instagram.

Along with this beautification project, Events D.C., the official convention and sports authority for the District, also plans on extending bike-friendly trails on the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail, installing batting cages on 19th Street, and adding a temporary outdoor pole vault training facility.

The reopening of the skate park will be on August 20, starting at 12 p.m.
