In Springfield, Virginia, commuters will have more options for parking and slugging, thanks to a brand new project recently approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
According to WTOP, this project is the Springfield Community Business Center commuter parking garage, which will offer 1,100 vehicular parking spaces across six levels. The garage may also be used for farmers markets and outdoor movies, thanks to the rooftop deck, which will feature a 5,000-square-foot community event area.
At the moment, the site, located at at the corner of Old Keene Mill Road and Springfield Boulevard, houses a roughly two-and-a-half-acre surface parking lot.
Construction is expected to begin by the fall of 2019 with a delivery by early 2022.
