It hasn’t been confirmed yet by developer StonebridgeCarras, but Washington Business Journal reports that new renderings of the Hoffman Town Center in Alexandria, Virginia, show that there may be plans for a Wegmans. [UPDATE: It’s worth noting that there is also already a Wegmans in Alexandria, Virginia, located at 7905 Hilltop Village Center Drive.]
If the lease with the grocer does end up getting signed, it will take up approximately 80,000 square feet of the project, or the entire second floor of the block-long building. The building is also expected to house around 220,000 square feet of retail, an outdoor plaza, green roof, and two levels of parking with enough spaces for over 500 cars, as reported by Washington Business Journal.
This past May, plans for a Wegmans in Washington, D.C. was confirmed at the site of the Fannie Mae headquarters, located at 3900 Wisconsin Avenue NW. The store will span 80,000 square feet, which is smaller than the typical Wegmans, which typically runs about 150,000 square feet. This grocery store is expected to deliver by late 2021.
