In NoMa, the Union Market area is undergoing many changes, and now a new project is on its way by developers UDR and EDENS.
UrbanTurf reported that the project, located at 500 Penn Street NE, may eventually house a 12-story building with approximately 300 residential units (9 percent of which will be affordable) and roughly 23,500 square feet of street-level retail. There will also be three levels of below-grade parking with up to 230 spaces and 78 bicycle spaces.

The two-story Maurice Electric Building currently at the site will be restored and incorporated into the new building.
Amenities will include a rooftop pool, party room, and fitness room.
