The location is near Audi Field, which is still currently under construction

All renderings via Zoning Commission documents

At the moment, this Buzzard Point site houses a one-story retail building and a surface parking lot, but if one developer gets their way, the area will offer 76 new residential units, comprised of one-, two-, and four-bedroom units. There will also be ground-floor commercial space.

The site is located at 1542-1550 1st Street SW, just north of the proposed Audi Field Stadium. According to documents filed with the Zoning Commission, 16 residential units will be reserved for households with incomes not exceeding 30 percent of the area median income. 60 units will be for households with incomes not exceeding 50 percent of the area median income.

The project will span approximately 71,000 square feet with roughly 3,800 square feet devoted to commercial space. There will also be a landscaped courtyard and approximately 940 square feet of residential amenity space. For those who have cars, there will also be 19 below-grade parking spaces, accessible from Q Street SW.

The United Planning Organization also plans on providing on-site wrap-around services, such as case management. Off-site services will include job training, childcare, and addiction treatment.
