In the past few months, there has been an influx of hotels arriving in Old Town Alexandria, from Hotel Indigo at 220 S. Union Street to Hyatt Centric at 1611 King Street. Now, there are plans to turn an unleased, roughly 30,000-square-foot commercial space into a boutique hotel.
Washington Business Journal reported that the hotel will offer 64 guest rooms as well as a ground-floor, 1,1750-square-foot restaurant with 115 seats and an outdoor patio. This currently unnamed hotel will be located at 115 S. Union Street.
Previous plans were to turn the three-story building into a 24-unit condo building, but the proposal was withdrawn last May. Previously, the property housed a Birkenstock store.
