This Saturday, April 8, the National Cherry Blossom Festival will host its signature event, the parade. For those who may be unfamiliar, this is one of Washington, D.C.’s most visited events with over 1.5 million visitors every year.
In preparation for the event, the National Cherry Blossom Festival released the map, shown above, indicating which streets in D.C. will be closed. In general, expect Downtown to be packed and difficult to cross during the parade hours, which is 10 a.m. to noon.
On the same day, there will also be a street festival, known as Sakura Matsuri, at the Capitol Riverfront. This event will be hosted at the corner of M Street SE and New Jersey Avenue SE from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
