In Ward 7’s Lincoln Heights neighborhood, there are plans to redevelop a 70,712 square-foot site with a surface parking lot into an approximately 100-unit affordable housing project.

Located at 601 50th Street NE at the western edge of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc. campus, the proposal is comprised of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units. All of the units will be for households with incomes not exceeding 60 percent of the area median income.

UrbanTurf reported:

“Out of the apartments, 35 would be replacement units for residents of the nearby Lincoln Heights and Richardson Dwellings. There would be a total of 56 one-bedrooms, 32 two-bedrooms, nine three-bedrooms (eight of which would be replacement units) and three four-bedrooms (all of which would be replacement units).”

Amenities in the project include 48 below-grade parking spaces, 34 bicycle spaces, as well as a gym, business center, and rooftop terrace. Courtyards will also be developed.

The project is headed by Progressive National Baptist Convention (PNBC) who teamed up with Atlantic|Pacific Communities and UrbanMatters Development Partners.
