On April 12, Prince George’s County will open its very first Whole Foods, but more is on its way. A brand new community is planned in the neighborhood by Calvin Cafritz Enterprises.

This community will encompass 180,000 square feet of commercial space, 850 apartments, 120 townhouses, a 120-room Hyatt House boutique hotel, and several open village green spaces. According to a press release, the project will also include a walkable pedestrian and vehicular bridge over the CSX railroad tracks along the eastern boundary of the development.

This spring, some of the new retailers and restaurants expected to open their doors in Prince George’s County include:

  • District Taco (its first location in Maryland)
  • Burton’s Grill
  • Habit Burger
  • Jersey Mike’s sub shop
  • Mod Pizza
  • Starbucks
  • Bella Beach Nail Spa
  • Gold’s Gym
  • White Oak Physical Therapy facility
  • Comcast XFINITY store
  • Old Line Bank branch

This new community will be named Riverdale Park Station. It is located at 6621 Baltimore Avenue and is located in Riverdale Park, Maryland.

A press release reported that the project is set to create 1,921 full time jobs during construction, 463 full-time permanent jobs upon completion, and is expected to produce more than $11 million in annual tax revenue for Prince George’s County.
