Atlantic Media owner selling Watergate building for $135M

The buyer is Washington REIT

One of the six buildings in the Watergate complex is being sold. Washington Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) is buying Watergate 600, located at 600 New Hampshire Avenue NW, from David Bradley, the owner of Atlantic Media. The $135 million sale is expected to close this month, according to Washingtonian.

Atlantic Media occupies nearly half of the 12-story, 309,000-square-foot office building. The new owner hopes to renovate the 1972-built as well as expand its lobby and existing restaurant space. Washingtonian further reported that a fitness center and conference center will also be added. Additionally, the rooftop terraces will be improved.

This Watergate building is not the infamous one located at 26000 Virginia Avenue NW that housed the Democratic National Committee headquarters during the Richard Nixon era.
