While Curbed’s Handbook offers heaps of essential how-to knowledge on everything from renovations to gardening to tiny living, homeowners sometimes still need a little extra dose of inspiration from other sources to help them design their home. In Washington, D.C., there is a new outlet for these homeowners, courtesy of real estate brokerage Slate Properties.
At their new office in Shaw, a new unique, public space has been created, known as the “Idea and Design Library.” Here, at 1121 5th Street NW, there are over 500 residential design, interior design, renovation, and remodeling books. There are also samples of paint, fixtures, and more.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Andrew Turczyn, broker/owner of Slate Properties, said, “There is literally something for everyone, from furnishing a studio condo to restoring the period details of a Georgetown colonial to landscape, deck and patio design ideas.”
The office also has spaces for agents, conference rooms, and a lounge.
