The search for a new FBI headquarters has been put on hold pending congressional appropriations, as reported by the Washington Business Journal. Currently, the proposed sites for the new headquarters are Greenbelt, Landover, and Springfield.
In a statement, Maryland's congressional delegation expressed concern due to the delays, while saying, "Prince George's County is the best choice for the FBI, and we call on Congress to fully fund the FBI relocation project, which is not only important for the economic development of Prince George's County, but for the state of Maryland and our nation as a whole."
Washington Business Journal further reported that the project is expected to cost between $1 billion and $2 billion.
