Additional 175 units, 13 townhomes planned near Wiehle-Reston East Metro

Already, there’s a lot to look forward to by the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station, and now a brand new major development is in the works. Arlington-based developer Rooney Properties is buying part of The Meridian Group's office property at 11111 Sunset Hills Road to build 175 multi-family residential units and 13 townhomes, as reported by the Washington Business Journal.

Currently, the 2.9-acre site is zoned as industrial. The developer hopes to get the site rezoned.

The developer will also have to rezone an adjacent parcel that they own at 1831 Michael Faraday Drive. This separate property is planned to house 243 residential units.
