Neither plans nor renderings are set in stone just yet, but it’s worth knowing what is in store for the site of the former Frager’s Hardware paint store on Capitol Hill.
The site, located at 1123-1129 Pennsylvania Avenue SE, will feature a mixed-use development with retail and up to 32 residential units. PGN Architects told UrbanTurf that the planning is still in the early stages, and the renderings are likely to change.
The Frager’s Hardware store was destroyed by a fire in June 2013 that was sparked by a discarded cigarette. The facade of the store is expected to be preserved due to it being located in the Capitol Hill Historic District.
Eventually, the project will go to the Historic Preservation Review Board.
