In Navy Yard, another residential building is planned, this time with a ground floor that will house an “active residential amenity space,” topped by approximately 300 units. Located at 950 South Capitol Street SE, the 130-foot-high, C-shaped building will include a closed court, landscaped courtyards, and a shaded pedestrian pathway.
The building will house an approximately 191-space, below-grade parking garage. Renderings show that the rooftop will have a pool. According to zoning documents, the developer plans on building the project to LEED Gold standards.
UrbanTurf further reports that this project will be the second phase for the developer’s plans for South Capitol Street SE and I Street SE, following this year’s opening of the 383-unit apartment building, known as One Hill South.
The developers behind the project are Related Companies and Ruben Companies, while the architects are Eric Colbert and Associates and Morris Adjmi Architects.
