A London-based artist, named Remi Rough, and a Poland-based artist, named Nawer, have completed four new abstract murals in Bethesda, Maryland. Bethesda Magazine reports that the artists completed the project in about seven days in the following locations:

  • 4600 East West Highway (street-level breezeway)
  • 4650 East West Highway (alley)
  • 7475 Wisconsin Avenue (Metro-level lobby)
  • A private space whose address is unknown

Past local works completed by these artists include a 10-story mural in Richmond, Virginia, completed by Rough, and a mural in the dining area at L’Enfant Plaza, completed by Nawer.

Brookfield Properties commissioned Shane Pomajambo, the founder and executive director of the Richmond Mural Project, for the mural project. Pomajambo then recruited Rough and Nawer for the murals.

Last year, Bethesda, Maryland’s Metro station got a new mural from Washington, D.C.-based artist Juan Pineda.
