Earlier this week, the White House revealed their Christmas decorations, and not everyone is so pleased with them.

In a statement, First Lady Melania Trump said, “I hope when visiting the People's House this year, visitors will get a sense of being home for the holidays.” While there have been some positive responses to the 19-and-a-half-foot-tall Balsam fir tree and gingerbread White House, there have also been some criticisms that have been pretty funny as well. Below, take a look at some of the best responses so far, comparing the “holiday bone forest” to the look of films and TV shows like Pan’s Labyrinth, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Stranger Things.

Over 150 volunteers from 29 states were behind the makeover with this year’s theme being “Time-Honored Traditions.” For more photos inside the White House, be sure to check out this Curbed DC article.
