Ever wanted a U.S. senator as a landlord? Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse recently purchased a Capitol Hill townhome for $926,000 with plans to rent out the rooms inside.
Washington Business Journal reported that the 1890-built home is located at 403 Constitution Avenue NE, and that the rentals inside will include three one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments across the property’s three levels.
There are no reports as to what the prices will be for the rentals or when they will land on the market. Washington Business Journal further reported that Sasse plans on occasionally living in the townhome during the winters.
A previous owner of the townhome was Grover Joseph Rees III, the former U.S. ambassador to the Democratic Republic of East Timor.
