This fall, Washington, D.C.’s CityCenterDC showcased an autumnal-themed public art installation that featured nearly 270,000 red and gold leaves suspended above a main retail transverse. Once again, there will be a seasonal installation, this time at The Park at CityCenter.
According to a press release published on PoPville, there will be a life-size, “modern” igloo made of 36,000 pounds of ice blocks unveiled with plush interiors by Joseph Ireland of JD Ireland Interior Architecture + Design.
The igloo, dubbed The Ice Lounge, will be open to the public from December 1 through 3 with hours from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the first day and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the final two days.
