Already, Washington, D.C., is planning its own elevated bridge in Anacostia, and it looks like Crystal City, Virginia, is also looking into the possibilities of something similar. UrbanTurf reports that the Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) is interested in creating a connection between the city and a security gate at the National Airport.
It’s still up in the air when it comes to what to realistically expect for the bridge, but there are hopes for it to incorporate moving sidewalks and access to the Mount Vernon Trail.
If approved by Arlington County, the project will need up to two years for planning and up to six years for construction.
