Approximately two miles from MGM National Harbor, a 10-story office building will undergo some major changes. UrbanTurf reported that developer Varsity Investment Group was approved to convert a circa 1989-built building into 187 residential units with 16,000 square feet of retail.
Located at 6009 Oxon Hill Road, there are plans for the building’s facade to get minor renovations, while the interior will get a myriad of amenities including a fitness center, business center, dog washing station, and a 10th floor lounge with views of the District. There will also be 401 garage parking spaces.
UrbanTurf further reported that the units will feature 21 studios, 121 one-bedrooms, 37 two-bedrooms, and eight three-bedrooms.
The last conversion completed by Varsity Investment Group was the $16 million conversion of George Washington University’s former City Hall dorm into the luxury apartment building, known as Varsity on K, according to Washington Business Journal.
The architecture firm behind the development is Soto Architecture & Urban Design.
