‘Commanding’ Kalorama mansion finally finds a buyer

The price ended up being nearly $7 million

While this Kalorama listing describes this seven-bedroom mansion as having a “commanding presence,” with its swimming pool, five-car parking, and elevator, it’s languished since it was first listed in July 2013.

At the time, it asked $8.5 million. It later got two price chops, dropping it down to $6,995,000 before being relisted in April 2015 for $6.9 million. The latest price change was in May 2016, which dropped it to $6,995,000.

Now, its status is pending, meaning that it is in the process of going under contract. The approximately 8,500-square-foot listing offers 11-foot-high ceilings and a wood-paneled library with a fireplace and built-ins. There is also a teal living room and a teal bar. In the kitchen, there are stainless steel appliances. Homebuyers may or may not be turned off by the toile wallpaper in some of the bedrooms.
