In September and October 2016, Donald Trump’s new Washington, D.C. hotel lost $1.2 million in revenue after anticipating earning $397,000 in its first two months of operation.
According to Bisnow, “During that period, the hotel brought in just over $4 [million] in revenue, $2.3 [million] below its expectations.”
Bisnow further reported that a letter from the House Democrats on the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform indicated that the president of the hotel owns 76 percent of the LLC controlling the hotel. Trump’s sons, Eric and Donald, Jr., each own roughly 7.5 percent.
